AFTERNOON EXPERIENCE INSTRUCTIONS

Location: St. John the Compassionate; 155 Broadview Ave., Toronto

Afternoon Experience: Today you will be heading to St. John the Compassionate. They are a dedicated to outreach and care for vulnerable individuals and families in Toronto especially those living in poverty or on the margins.
Theme: Our theme today is SEEING others the way God sees them. As you learn about those who may feel the effects of marginalization and be looked down upon by others, ask Jesus to help you SEE others the way HE SEES them…as dearly loved and valued!
Pray as a group that God would use you to show His love and kindness to the people you come in contact with today. Some may be believers, others may not, but don’t be afraid to engage people in conversation.
Please make sure to bring your water bottles and proper footwear for your time today. Have a great afternoon, and don’t forget to get together and debrief after your time with Brother Luke!

Location: Aviation Interfaith Ministry (Toronto Pearson Airport - Terminal 1 Arrivals)
You will need to go to Terminal 1 at arrivals and pull up at the FIRST set of doors (your first opportunity). Mike will meet you at the curb, give you a parking pass, and tell you where to park.

Afternoon Experience: Today you will be at Toronto Pearson Airport with Mike who is the senior airport chaplain. Mike. He speaks French and Arabic, and has been at Pearson airport over 20 years overseeing volunteers and providing leadership for numerous ministry outreach, programs and services. Learn how they support travelers and staff, and see how faith meets people on the move!
Theme: Our theme today is LISTENING. Ask Jesus to help you to LISTEN to people the way HE LISTENS to you….with patience and understanding. Seek to really hear the needs of the people you come in contact with today.
Pray as a group that God would use your group to show His love and kindness to the people you meet today. Some may be believers, others might not, but don’t be afraid to engage people in conversation as you serve alongside each other.

Afternoon Experience Instructions: Today you will be sharing the good news of the Gospel with people around either Oshawa Centre or the King Street area. Strike up a conversation and share the love of Christ with the people you meet today!
Theme: Our theme today is SHARING. Sharing our faith means first sharing our lives and investing in the lives of others too; authentically caring for them. Ask Jesus to give you wisdom and courage today as you SHARE and interact with others. Pray that God would prepare the way for you to have real conversations about faith with people who you meet today. Sometimes we share through your actions, like earlier in the week, today you may have the chance to share your story of faith and the truth of the GOSPEL with people…take every opportunity!
Pray as a group that God would use your group to speak truth and life into the people you meet today. Some may be believers, others might not, but don’t be afraid to engage people in conversation. It might be as simple as asking someone how you can pray for them!
