Afternoon Experience Instructions: Today you will be at 5n2 Kitchens which is known to be a soup kitchen and has grown into a multi food program hub. 5n2 Kitchens continues to serve free meals to all who need one and has also expanded their services to include free food pantry and even a community garden.

Please make sure to wear appropriate close-toed shoes, NO FLIP FLOPS or HEEELS. Long hair must be tied back or put in a hair net (provided). While your there, you must adhere to proper hand washing techniques and wash hands regularly. Gloves must be worn only when serving or handling cooked food. Cell phones are not allowed in the kitchen or prep areas.

Location 2: People's House; 1 Argonne Crescent, M2K 2P6

Afternoon Experience: Today you will be with Enoch at the People's House. The Peoples House is a ministry of the Peoples Church in Toronto, and was created in a response of the question of how they as a church could best respond to the refugee crisis that is facing our country and our world.

Theme: Our theme today is SEEING others the way God sees them. As you learn about those who may feel the effects of marginalization and be looked down upon by others, ask Jesus to help you SEE others the way HE SEES them…as dearly loved and valued!

Pray as a group that God would use you to show His love and kindness to the people you come in contact with today. Some may be believers, others may not, but don’t be afraid to engage people in conversation.

Please make sure to bring your water bottles and proper footwear for your walk today. Have a great afternoon, and don’t forget to get together and debrief after your time at 5n2 Kitchens and at the Peoples House.

Location 1: Yonge Eglinton Centre, 2300 Yonge St., Toronto, ON M4P 1E4 (Food Court in front of the Tim Hortons; meet at 1:30pm)

Afternoon Experience: Today you will be out on a street walk in the heart of midtown Toronto with Dion. He also lives with Multiple Sclerosis and can no longer walk so uses a motorized wheelchair to get around. He is an advocate on behalf of people in the margins of society, and is an accomplished public speaker on the topic of housing, homelessness and disabilities.

Please dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable shoes as there is quite a bit of walking involved.

Afternoon Experience: Today you are going to be sharing the Gospel with people at Scarborough Town Centre (also known as STC). Located in the heart of Toronto, STC is a great location for striking up a conversation and sharing the love of Christ with a diverse crowd of many different backgrounds.

Theme: Our theme today is SHARING. Sharing our faith means first sharing our lives and investing in the lives of others too; authentically caring for them. Ask Jesus to give you wisdom and courage today as you SHARE and interact with others. Pray that God would prepare the way for you to have real conversations about faith with people who you meet today. Sometimes we share through your actions, like earlier in the week, today you may have the chance to share your story of faith and the truth of the GOSPEL with people…take every opportunity!

Pray as a group that God would use your group to speak truth and life into the people you meet today. Some may be believers, others might not, but don’t be afraid to engage people in conversation. It might be as simple as asking someone how you can pray for them!
